"Tea is hot and getting hotter. From iced to spiced, from austere black tea to sweetened and milky chai, from a flowery pick-me-up to a healing herbal, no other beverage has such a place in the heart of every civilization. No wonder it is the most popular beverage in the world, next to water."

July’s “ Tea of the Month ” is Island Getaway!

Iced tea is too pure and natural a creation not to have been invented
as soon as tea, ice, and hot weather crossed paths.  ~ John Egerton

July’s “ Tea of the Month ” is
Island Getaway!

Enjoy our naturally sweet, sugar-free "Fruit Punch" Tea created originally by Jason, my husband, business partner and fellow tea-lover in 2010, when we first began selling our herbal teas.  Back then, we only had 3 original teas for sale and a whole slew of recipes I concocted for future blends.  But Jason decided he wanted to make teas too!  So, I presented him with a basket of goodies I considered user-friendly and safe for amateur herbalists, so he too could begin experimenting and making his own herbal medicine!

And to our delight, his creation turned out to be one of our personal YD favorites!  A perfectly proportioned blend of tart and tasty, gentle healthful herbs, fruits and flowers, including: South African Red Rooibos, Orange Peel & Hibiscus Flowers with a touch of Stevia Leaf; Island Getaway is always our first choice for hot days and family gatherings!

~ Indeed, Island Getaway makes a perfect cup of caffeine-free, kid-friendly fruity iced tea on a hot summer's day!~

To make a gallon pitcher to share, use 10-12 tea bags of Island Getaway,  chill overnight, remove tea bags and enjoy for days to come!  Try making tea ice cubes too and add even more flavor to your tea, juice or water!

To celebrate the beginning of summer and welcome this wave of very warm weather coming our way (& hopefully, to propel us to even more active aspiration (and protect us from excess perspiration!) We invite everyone to take some time each day to enjoy their own Yera Dé Iced Tea~Time! Doesn't matter which blend you choose (although I don't recommend too much spicy Ginger, Cinnamon or Cayenne tea or anything too high in caffeine content, as both will just increase your metabolism & make you feel hotter!) However, most herbs, especially Chamomile, Mint, Chrysanthemum, Rose, Orange Peel, Hibiscus, Yerba Maté, Oatstraw, Nettles, Dandelion Root, Rooibos, Honeybush etc! will welcome quick-steeps, sun-steeps & even taste great as a chilled cup of yesterday's re-steep!
~ So, to cool down & chill out all summer long,
Drink Yera Dé Herbal Teas & Just Add Ice! ~

Spring Cleaning!

As Spring rapidly approaches, many of us are already considering yet another disciplined 3 to 30 day Cleanse &/or Fast, and in general, just feeling an impending need to spend more time outdoors & start "detoxing" (whatever that means!) LOL! And it's a very good instinct, in fact, that is what Spring & spring herbs are for... for activation! and amplification! and detoxification! "Out with the Old, In with the New!" our bodies cry! And as an experienced detoxer and amateur herbalist, I do think we should heed this call, maybe 2 to 3 times a year when a small or lengthy cleanse would benefit the body; but I also feel it's vitally important to remember that every body, every person is different and so, before starting any online fad diet or trying a new chinese herb, we must each consider what will make our detox process personal & practical, in addition to being spiritual and truly transformative?!

Detoxing for weight loss, chronic inflammation, adrenal support, drug & alcohol abuse, PTSD, Diabetes, immune boosting and other longterm health issues needs to be considered carefully and a patient & purposeful plan should be drafted with the guidance of trusted healthcare providers. Ultiamtely, the detox process can neither be rushed nor terminated w/o negative consequence. There's no such thing as a quick fix when it comes to mind, body & spiritual detoxing! Rome was not built in a day nor has its consequent havoc been fully cleaned up since!! Whatever toxins we've put in over the years (including undigested foods, sugars, caffeine, Candidas yeast, alcohol, and of course, the biggest toxin of all: Stress!) at some point must be cleansed & the body allowed to rest & repair (sometimes for upwards of 6 months to 2 years if necessary depending on sensitivity & toxicity levels!) Haphazard detoxes can cause more harm than good, however; without detoxification, inevitable organ damage and chronic fatigue issues will escalate & then must be dealt with more drastic measures, such as surgery and medication.

So, not to scare you, but FYI, it really is worthwhile to do some research and ask around, (feel free to FB me anytime!) as well as meditate & really intuit what YOUR body & mind and life really need to feel truly healed + alive! Who do you want to see in the mirror? And why? And what small but important changes can you make today that will start benefitting you immediately?

I've come to learn that it is not Superfoods or Herbal Teas or alternative practicioners that heal us, only Nature heals. Only Love heals. Only Time heals. If your digestion is slow, you won't be able to break down and absorb the vital nutrients from the Super expensive Superfoods you just ordered online! But you can go outside and sit in the grass with your barefeet and catch a few rays and breathe deep and listen to birds and stretch and relax and meditate and sip some tea and write a poem and call a friend and laugh and nap and most likely, even after just 10 minutes, you will already start feeling better!

And with the addition of an intelligent & intuitive individualized detox plan with kind support from loved ones & wellness practioners, you really can make some wonderfully dramatic & lifelong changes fairly quickly! Please note that in my limited opinion, there's no such thing as "one size fits all" kind of how-to for detoxing. *Every meal plan, herbal treatment, symptom/reaction (physical &/or emotional) should be assessed as you go to determine the ideal length of detox and make necessary adjustments!

But with all that in mind, I wish you all a truly Happy Spring!
And Happy Detox!

Spring Cleaning!

A Nutrient-Rich and Gentle Spring Detox

http://www.yeradeherbalteas.com/spring-cleaning-detox.html

Ingredients and Reasons for Inclusion:

Spearmint -
Soothing to the nerves, good for sore throats, used to clear sinuses, regulate acid/alkaline balance, freshen breath and to cleanse and tone the spleen.

Dandelion Root -
This popular spring tonic cools and cleans the liver, flushes wastes, recharges digestion, relieves water retention and removes toxic substances, which helps improve everything from mood swings to inflammation.

Nettle Leaf -
A blood tonic, rich in chlorophyll with a healthy reserve of vitamins and minerals, that stimulates circulation and helps fight infections and increase mobility after injury. A good herb to take for respiratory weakness and to strengthen and energize the liver, gallbladder and kidneys.

Raspberry Leaf-
A nutrient-rich herb, particularly beneficial to women, that strengthens the gums, kidneys, urinary and digestive tracts and helps ease stomach complaints.

Lemon Balm -
Often called nature's antihistamine, this aromatic herb soothes the entire digestive tract and helps relieve tension and aids respiratory healing. Also great for promoting calm and tempering stress-related disorders.

Oatstraw -
A full-bodied tonic to strengthen immunity and build energy. Helps to stabilize thyroid function, regulate blood sugar, relieve inflammation, reduce cholesterol levels, soothe skin and enrich the nervous system with nutrients for health and harmony.

Rosemary -
For centuries, rosemary has been used internally and externally to boost circulation & metabolism and to treat a variety of symptoms, including arthritis, headaches, stomach upset, cuts and bruises, hair loss and stress relief. Specifically during a detox, rosemary can help alleviate skin flare ups and relieve intestinal cramping due to bloating & gas by stimulating the release of bile to cleanse digestive tract and breakdown fats.
